Hello All!

First and Foremost. On behalf of all of the staff and people that help run DaTorrents, we'd like to welcome everyone back and we deeply apologize for the extended downtime recently.

A vast majority of this, unfortunately was very bad news for DaTorrents, as well as many of the websites and communites that are shared on the servers that host the forums, tracker and of course the gallery. In short, some terrible things _almost_ happened to the site, and we still are working as hard as possible to determine how much was suffered by DaT itself, for the time being the tracker and gallery will be offline. They might pop online for a short bit here and there, but in general will be unavailable.

Basically, what had happened (and keep in mind, this will be a VERY condensed version of the events,) is that in a fit of insanity, someone with servers hosted in the same rack, decided to yank the power cords out of all our servers, including datorrents, and its database server and then physically removed ALL of the hard drives from the servers! He then proceeded to "contact" every one of the customers who's data was on those hard drives, and demanded payments from them in exchange for their data to be returned to them safely. Even knowing that he quite possibly could not recover the data after removing the drives in the way he did.

After many hours dealing with the datacenter, the person that stole the drives, and other persons involved (that had their drives stolen as well), the thief then ultimately demanded from Delta (seeing as most of the persons hosted on those servers are Delta's customers) a single payment of $8,000 US, in exchange for the drives to be returned. Basically he stole the drives, tried to extort money, did intentional harm to a competitor's business, as well as countless other things

After this all took place, the datacenter once again stepped in, and has taken care of many things, but in the end ...

The drives and the data on them are back in the datacenter. The servers are being worked on (as you can see the forums are up again!), and things will SLOWLY be progressing back to normal. It may take us a while to get back on our feet, but we ask for your patience and understanding and not to open 1000 new threads asking about the tracker/gallery for now.

As we have more information on the status of things, and when they may be coming back, we will of course let you all know as soon as possible.
