Posts: 270 | Kuro-hana C&D Death Note subbing! Kuro-hana fansubs recently recieved a C&D notice from Viz media. This is an outrage. They let had them get hype up for the series and tell them to stop subbing when there are only 2 episodes left to be subbed. Hopefully another fan subbing group will pick it up. Is anyone happy with Viz doing this? What will you do to live without the last two episodes? Will you still buy the dvds if Viz is going to be this way?

| Forum Goderator ![]() | Viz are within their rights to do it. I can't remember if Kuro-Hana picked it up before or after it got licenced, but its one of the dangers of subbing or following licenced anime. You get noticed. As for the hype, it was there already with the success of the manga and 2 big-budget movies.

Posts: 270 | Well you do have a point, it is totally within their rights. Kuro-hana picked it up before it was licensed. It had a great amount of hype but I doubt the films gave it that much hype over seas. I'm just annoyed they chose to make them stop with only two episodes left, it seems like they just waited till the last two then told them to stop. -_-

| Beginner ![]() | Yeah, I wasn't exactly happy with it but they (Viz) are well within their rights to do so. But there will always be groups releasing the anime if there is enough demand for it. I just hope that Kuro-hana keep doing the Devil May Cry anime too, since I finally found them as the english subbers of it. |

| Special Member ![]() ![]() | It's a matter of having the anime licensed that makes a group decide to continue or not... as a matter of fact, it's not the license that makes them stop, it's just a factor but the decision is still within the group, for all they care, they can just put Viz's memo to the dumping area but they didn't. So regardless of anything, it's useless to say something negative /sad about Viz. Kuro-hana fansubs could've just dropped this project right after it was licensed. Or they can even finish the project even if they get the warning. I find it funny cause usually the group that will take over a licensed stuff are not pretty well known, I never heard of Ruberia before so I can not say that it is not well known, however, what I said was basically true in most anime. For all we know, these new formed groups could be a famous subbing group hiding their name and lowering the sub quality to provide distinctions. well, who knows... |

| ImageBoard Mods ![]() ![]() | there is no need to be mad, because many years ago, when we have ADV film licence Ikkitousen first season and send CD letter to all fansubs when the fansubs have one more episode to go. it is not an outrage at all. licence companies send out CD letters to sue people, they will only scare the customers away anyway. |

And Kurohana was not subbing Death Note when it was unlicensed -- it was licensed between episodes 12 and 13, and KH started up as anfs, did 13-16, then switched over to kurohana for 17-35. I've just resigned myself to having at least 4 groups' DN releases when all is said and done. Live-Evil 1-12, Animanda 13-31, Kurohana 32-35, and whoever is best for 36-37. | |

| Special Member ![]() ![]() | Well, Ruberia got two last episodes subbed. Too bad, the anime ending is a bit altered. It showed more drama than the one from manga. Ryuuk is what you call "kind-hearted" in the anime. Though I would say, the live action's ending is quite good cause it balanced out the battle between Kira and L, plus it showed almost the same scenario of Kira's death. I really do not know why the anime's ending have to be altered when almost all of the anime's contents were pretty much the same as the manga. I guess I just want to always see Ryuuk the way he was portrayed in the manga... |
