Elfen Lied review

This review is composed of my personal feelings on the anime series elfen lied CAUTION THERE ARE SPOILERS! last warning. Its scaling may be, wierd but youll understand

Characters: 8
Backstory: 9
Ending: 10
Moments: 8
Action: 7
Ecchi: 10
Plot: 9
Overall: 9

I thought that Elfen lied had a serious sci-fi background, reminding me something more of X-men or a Marvel comic than Anime, but it held fast in the action scenes, begining with an action scene, involving both decapitation and mutiliation. The characters werent only solid but had also progressed, something hard to find in such a short series, The flashbacks take up at least one whole episode and get more populus as the series reaches its climax. The character interaction was also very intresting, taking the love triangle out for a spin, and the serigate family idealism too. The most character change i saw was in that of Lucy(nyu), as the story progressed, she became less violent, on each of her reserfacings, that is not to say that in the end she was not violent at all, but there was a decline in the ammount that she did kill. As for favorite character that would have to be Nana, at first she seemed rather sheepish, though her devotion to her Papa, pushed harder than her feelings that made her lack a large ammount of violence. Though it was her lack of violence that lead her to her defeat, and subsequent dismemberment at the hands of lucy. Like Lucy she seemed to have two states as well, a more killer state, with sharper drawn eyes, and a state with the more expression oriented rounded type eyes, though it isnt a totally diffrent entity, as opposed to the Lucy-Nyu relaitionship. as for scenery there was some great mountian shots, along with some of the better beach shots, though most was foreground secnery, The character detail was rather high in my opinion, and expressions could be easily read and interperited.The flashbacks seem too consume alot of time as the series progresses, cutting out of the climax, making everything fall into place alot faster than in a longer running series.
I enjoyed the ending, and most of the scenes were very touching.

Though i have one MAJOR fault with the series >.> why doesnt the director get his?(Get killed or worse)
and i have another question, does humanity progress to one more like he diculuos future so predicted by the director and his son?

O__O whoa harsh. I thought that anime was great, I loved the gore. It made me sad so it wasn't such a pathetic attempt. It was very different from any anime I'd watched before.. I give it an 8 out of 10 ^__^

I did quite enjoy the first episode where the majority of the gore was, then found it kind of trailed off a lot towards the end. I would watch another series as there were a lot of questions left unanswered.

There is definitely re-watch value in there, but as I am quite a harsh marker, I would give this series a 6.5/10 as I know a lot of other things I would rather watch.

Elfen Lied was a favorite of mine, ended too soon though, way too soon. I love the animes where the main character loses its memory or something along the lines and acts all innocent but then turns evil and kills everyone MUAHAHA. yeah... um... 9/10

The "real" ending to Elfen Lied is on the dvd release, and only there, afaik. As a way to make people buy the dvd.

I thought Elfen Lied was an excellent series and did a good job with everything. I hated that one episode ova since it didn't add anything to the series. I agree with the 9/10 overall.

Man I remember while i was walking to the store and I thought, "Where can I see a llittle girl have all her clothes and limbs ripped off." Then Elfen lied came into my life and I just loved it.

Not really I thought it was gross. 7/10
