... I am currently in the middle of completing the Shuffle! anime series, and, after several episodes in, I just felt compelled to get the opinions of the other guys around here on a purely hypothetical question (although if you don't like spoilers, you may not want to read any further ^_^):

If you were the main character, Rin what's-his-name, and you had to eventually choose betweeen Nerine, Shia, or Kaede (... or, if you're into that kind of thing, Primula, for that matter), who would you have confessed your love to, all thoughts of trying to get with all three/four girls aside? As it seems to me right now, I think Rin has no inclination of turning any of them down. Maybe he plans on totally pimping out, I don't know.

I, personally, would have simply stuck with Kaede, if for no other reasons than to get everyone at school off my back about being a player with three different girls, not to mention getting the Shia and Nerine "defense forces" off of my back. Besides, neither Nerine nor Shia can hold a candle to a girl that adorable, really.

What about the rest of you?

Me personally? I would choose Asa Shigure, She has the personality that I look for in a girl (Although, she doesn't have the other things I look for in a gilr (Brown hair, glasses...)

That said, I'd honestly watch till the end before you start picking any of the girls.

You think so? ... I don't know. It's awfully hard to imagine Nerine, Shia, or any of the other girls being able to eventually prove superiority to Kaede.
Nevertheless, I do plan on seeing the rest of the series; it has a strange way of pulling me in, despite looking rather foolish and childish on the surface.

This is rather interesting, though; both responses so far have favored a girl character I didn't even mention in the choosing. Shigure must be more popular than I thought. ^_^

Have you watched episode 19-20 yet? After you've watched both, then tell me whether you still prefer Kaede.

Hah hah. Actually, I'm almost there. I guess I can answer your question by the end of the day.

... Well, I suppose I can see where you were coming from, Seorang, but, still ... all of that hatred and resentment Kaede had hidden inside of her was a thing of the past to me, and I still find her loyalty to Rin admirable. So, I must say that, even after having witnessed the episodes you spoke of, I would still choose Kaede! ^_^

Different brushes, different strokes. Kaede is fine (I'd still take her), but I prefer Asa or Shia over her. Kaede just seems too passive.

... Passive? Heh heh. I don't know if I could still say that after that attack on Shigure. I must say that, even though I said I still think Kaede is the best one and all, I was a little horrified when Kaede suddenly sprang on the poor girl like that.

I'll be honest, though. Perhaps the only serious reason I like Kaede the most is because, in my opinion, she's proven herself to be innocent. I mean, in real life, how often would it occur that a girl and a guy had lived together for many years, the girl was secretly in love with him and all, and yet she never tried to seduce him in any way all of that time? I just naturally have a high respect for women such as that. ^_^

... For a minute there when Kaede went sort of crazy and suddenly showed up in Rin's room with no clothes on, I feared that Shuffle! was about to go all hentai on me. That would have been both unnecessary and disappointing.

Swordsman, you do realize that Shuffle was based on a series of very popular Hentai Games?

Me personally, I'd never be able to forgive kaede for doing what she did to Asa. I'd understand and Support her, but I don't think I could forgive. Girls who gots issues, Serious issues like Kaede need help.
