| No Life ![]() | February Anime recommendations Okay, usual monthly thread. What has really got your interest for February? Be it old, new or a rerun for you ![]() This month, I have been watching Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. I like horror/pschological type series (Narutaru, Akira) and this was recommended to me by ichigo. ![]() http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.p...anime&aid=3574 STORY - This kind of confused me at first. The first 4 eps made a story, then the 5th started again with a slightly different plot. The entire series goes on like this, jumping down different parallel universe. The story revolves around a group of school friends living in a village that holds a horrific secret. Every year at the watanagashi festival, people die and disappear. The story will have you wanting more at the end of each ep, and covering your eyes in places. Be warned, this is not for the faint hearted. Some of the torture scenes had me hiding my hands and covering my ears. ANIMATION - You soon fall in love with the huge chibi eyes, and forget that the animation is not up to the standard of other series. SOUNDTRACK - The OP is one of the best I have heard for a while, and really fits the tone of the series. Its very twisted and dark, and a good contrast to the ending theme. SUMMARY - If you like murder/horror type series, and want to see cute chibi's killing each other in horrific ways, you'll love this. The story twists and turns all the way, and still leaves you wondering a little at the end (there is a series 2 starting next month). There is definite rewatchability and this has become one of my favourite series. H. |

| Special Member ![]() ![]() | Bleach - It finally went back to the manga storyline(Vaizard Arc) so it's kinda cool. But still, the story is building up so not much excitement yet. What I'd recommend are: Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto - awesome anime for history lovers. It also seems that Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou is a good anime. But sadly only the first episode is subbed. So I can't recommend it yet unless you can watch raw anime. |
