| Protector of Angels! | The Meaning of Air (may bring about spoilers) ... I thought it was about time that I tried creating a new thread, myself. Basically, I am looking for some help from other fans of "Air TV" out there, whom might have understood its story better than I did. I liked this series and all, but, there were a lot of things I just couldn't understand. ... I pretty much got lost right at the end of episode seven, where the story seemed to transition without warning over from Misuzu and Yukito to some blue-haired girl with wings and a samurai-like guy who was supposed to be her protector (I think; I can't remember their names). I am guessing that the point in time where the blue-haired winged girl and her protector came in was supposed to be in the past with regard to Misuzu and Yukito's time. I guess that my specific questions therefore are these: 1) Is Misuzu actually supposed to be an angel, and not a human girl? 2) Who is Yukito, really? And how did his actions seem to depend on whether or not he and Misuzu both lived or died? 3) What was the blue-haired girl and the samurai's relevance to the story? (warning: biggest spoiler question just below ->) 4) ... Did Misuzu die and go to Heaven at the end? Maybe I am just an idiot, but I didn't think it was made all that clear. ... I would appreciate anyone's help in answering these questions for me. Thank you in advance.

Posts: 1,078 | 1) First off, there are no christian references in this anime. This more to with Shinto/Buddhism, or some mix there of. So, no, she is not an angel. 2) Yukito is the decedent of the Ryuuya (the samurai) and Uraha (the friend and servant of Kanna, the blue-haired girl). And, what do you mean by his actions? 3) Kanna and Ryuuya's story is like the prelude. The arc of the series is called the Summer Arc. It goes back 1000 summers and explains some of the gaps and back story of the prior arc, which is called the Dream Arc. 4) Misuzu did die. I believe she, or Haruko, said at the beginning, that the "disease", or something like that, would kill her eventually. Granted, this is just what I can remember off the top of my head. I suppose I should go back an re-watch the series to get a more definitive answer. Or, can someone else confirm or disprove how I answered?

| Protector of Angels! | Ah, I see. It did come to my attention that the word "angel" was never mentioned, but, rather, it was always "girl in the sky" or "winged being" or something like that. ... As to what I meant by Yukito's actions, he once said something like (and I think it was to Misuzu right after her adopted mother left) "if I stayed here with you, then both of us will eventully die ...." I don't understand why his leaving or staying had anything to do with Misuzu's ultimate fate. ![]()

Posts: 39 | If I understood correctly, that was because of her disease, if she'd get happy or friendly with someone her condition would grow worse ( Something with memory loss ) Might I add that this is one of the few anime's I have never understood fully XD. |

Posts: 1,078 | Yeah, Neutralized hit the nail on the head. Yukito wanted to keep save her and make her happy, like Ryuuya and Kanna, but Yukito knew that the more he and Misuzu fell in love, the more she would suffer. But, yeah, it kind of feels like we aren't getting the full story. The only thing that I can guess is that they omitted some of the story when bringing it over from the game. But, at least this series wasn't as confusing as Melody of Oblivion. Urgh... that series fries my brain trying to understand everything in it.

| Protector of Angels! | ... Falling in love? I didn't think that was what was happening. ... Misuzu is, what, barely a teenager?

Posts: 1,078 | Since when is age a huge barrier in love? Key word being huge. Granted, that could just be my interpretation, but considering that game is an EroGe/Dating Sim, it is a fairly reasonable deduction.

| Protector of Angels! | ... No, I don't think that an age gap should necessarily be a barrier, but I guess a huge age difference between two people still makes it so that the thought of those two people possibly being in love does not cross my mind. And Misuzu's childlikeness also makes it hard for me to imagine so, but that was just me. Anyway, thanks for your helping me to understand the story better, Naegling, Neutralized.
