Anime Recommends for January 2007

Well, here we are again.

As the topic says, I'd recommend Black Lagoon. Although it's been there a while, at least the fansub is done by Shinsen-Subs for the whole series.

The anime has basically 2 series(Black Lagoon and Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage) but the episodes in between were connected to each other.

Though it may not be your regular type of anime, you may like it for it's deeper meaning. It's quite funny for me but I am not sure how'd it went out for others.

Another recommendation is to watch Ergo Proxy if you haven't. A lot of people already had a comment about this anime so I won't say further.

My recommendation (a little late this month) is gonna have to be D.Gray Man.

As I have described it before, its like Bleach before it got crap.

The world has a hidden side, those of Akuma. These are people who have been brought back from the dead by a loved one, and are trapped by the Millenium Count who uses them as weapons against humankind. The exorcists are people armed with "innocence", something both humans and the akuma are searching for.

So far, only up to episode 12, but already the story is really well developed, and promises to offer a lot more. The characters are well explored and always someone to relate to. The count is a cracking bad guy, and the akuma make a great opposition.

If you like bleach, I'm sure you'll like this. I've managed to my eps from the black-order, a new group doing this series, and doing a great job!

Aside from the two that were mentioned...

Genshiken OVA - Picking up were the TV series left off through hopefully the rest of the story.

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge - Even though this is as old as the other two, I am still recommending it since it is still on going, and fairly early in the series.

Death Note - Again, been around a few months, but still on going and worth watching (and recommending) until the final episode.

It is the 58th year of Showa and summer is early. It is only June, yet one is able to enjoy the serenade of cicadas at noon and the buzz of higurashi in the evening.

Our story takes place in Hinamizawa Village. It is a small village with a population of less than 2,000, a place cursed by Oyashiro-Sama

Hinamizawa Village Consecutive Unnatural Murders (1979 ~ 1983).

Every year, during the festival of Watanagashi, one person dies and another disappears. It is a cycle of death which started with a fight over the construction plans for a dam. That incident was covered up by the police and has now come back to haunt the village.

Is all this due to a plot or a coincidence... or a curse?

Is this tragedy inevitable? Is there nothing you can do but accept it?
