Does anyone know why in the hell the upcoming HELLSING ULTIMATE OVA vol.1 is only 50 min. long? I thought it was going to be a 26 episode series. If so then are all of the volumes only going to have 2 episodes each. Does anyone else think that this sucks? Anime dvd are way to expensive to only get 2 episodes a volume.

It has been for a long time the habit of companies to release two episodes at a time. Back on vhs sending two 30-minute episodes was strange, as even at low-quality a vhs take can easily hold four episodes..

there are a couple companies that do only two episodes at a time with DVD, but i hope will not become the norm.

yeah, it does seem that 7 DVDs for 26 episodes is pretty standard now. Depending on where you shop that ranges from $140-$210 for a season. Ouch. And then you have some like Gantz doing 2 per DVD....and even at $15...still not that much of a bargain :-\
