Why there is no anime about badminton?

There are anime about football ( soccer ) , basketball , baseball , american football, skate, golf , volley, tennis , ping pong , kendo ( japanese art ), volley, racing, boxing and lastly sumo ( japanese wrestling ) .

Why there is any director make anime about badminton in the history of anime ? as far as i know, badminton is one of favourite sport.

That's because it's a variation of tennis that's played by kids a lot, but doesn't really have much standing among official sports. Frisbee is in pretty much the same situation. Badminton doesn't require much strength compared to tennis, and not much speed compared to table tennis. It's a casual exercise, since being so easy to play means there isn't much room for professional competition. It's hard to make an anime storyline centered around a casual sport dramatic.

I dont think that right.. since i also playing badminton.. if you met an equal opponent, it will take all your strenght to win the match..

It is not that easy to play.. i think the 5 or 6 stars badminton competation happens at least once in a month.. below 4 stars, we never pay much attention to it and tv station didnt broadcast it..

In asia especially in south east asia, badminton is the one of most favourite sport.. there are also player from China, south korea, england, denmark.

I think the main reason is since japanese dont play it alot and there is no well known japanese badminton players.

perhaps that really is the reason because badminton isn't popular in japan,
for billiards, a manga but not anime is out, title is breakshot
for chess, maybe go will do: Hikaru no go..but i think it orignated from korea if im not mistaken..hehe

Hikaru No Go is very nice anime, i like it much. i hope the ova is out. ( most slightly wont come out ) ..

billiards -->> it also will be nice it there is anime about it.. i watch the taiwanese drama about billiard, good story :P
