In October 2005, Canadian courts sentenced an Edmonton, Alberta man to one year of community service for importing manga depicting child sex, possibly the first manga-related child pornography case in Canada. [18] The man was on probation at the time for possession of child pornography that featured real children.

In April 2006, an American was sentenced to 30 days in jail for bringing child pornography to Canada. While he had possession of three videos and three images of real children, a criminal investigator cited the 13,000 "mostly cartoon" or "anime" images in his possession and the "prohibitive nature of these goods". [19]

I don't think alone you would get much for possessing lolicon, in both instances they had on them, or had previously been caugh with, child porn. If Canada ever decides to haul me in, it'll be easy enough to talk my way out of it. Intelligence and common sense ftw!

They got some of the more guliable webmasters to believe their story and pull lolicon from their site or shutdown, that gave their FUD the appearance of legitimacy which was used to convince slightly less guliable webmaster to follow suit and so on. Eventually they managed to use those other guliable individuals to convince (at least temporarly) more reasonable individuals. It's the domino effect or the butterfly effect deeping on what perspective you take on it.

Whether or not loli leads pedo has been discussed before. In fact if you dig around in the Hentai Discussion board you'll find at least one thread on it.
There is a difference, loli is fiction. If we want to do away with the distinction between reality and fiction as far as what is allowed, we'd have to out law quiet a bit, like violent movies, books, games etc etc etc.
In Japan (where most loli is produced and consumed) crimes against children are quiet low (almost no existant) which would seem to weaken any claim of a statistical correlation between viewing loli and actually abusing a child.
