| No Life ![]() | Anime recommendation for JUNE A new month, a new start. And yes, before anyone reminds me, I am late starting this one. I've only just realised we've hit June.... almost half way to Christmas! But enough with the voiceover, lets talk anime! I haven't really started any new anime series recently, so I will recommend one of my all time favourite anime: Genshiken http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.p....search=search The series is for serious otaku only!! There are numerous nods to other series, including games, manga and jpop. I was very sceptical about this series to start with because of the intro. It was very fluffy kind of kiddie series, but do not let that put you off! That is from the anime series that is within this anime series! (probably makes no sense there....). The story revolves around a school group of "visual arts" fans, who sits around all day watching anime, reading comics and building mechs. If you are a big anime fan, you will frequently see yourself in the characters. The story line is not immense, instead it focuses on inter-personal relationships and how others percieve the otaku lifestyle. It is very funny, can be quite serious, but is always enjoyable. H. |

Use Peer Guardian when you're downloading. It should block out industry monitoring IPs nicely. http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/ Here's an anime I'm following right now. It's still new and unlicensed. http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.p...anime&aid=4147 | ||

| No Life ![]() | Errr... can I just point out that I start this thread each month to get people to recommend a series that peple may not have seen? Everybody will get to that point where they wonder what to download next, and this thread is supposed to help. Even if it is just to highlight a new series that may have been overlooked. There are other ways to get anime series apart from downloading. Just because I recommended a series that is licensed by adv doesn't mean that everyone has to download it! H. |

| No Life ![]() | Dagger, it is not my intention to preach to people that they should be paying for all anime. Far from it! (We have 400+gig of anime downloaded on our server >.> ) My point is more the fact that this thread is just for people to say which anime they would recommend people watch, not to say "ZOMG! you must download this, but watch out for ADV!!!!!" I still like genshiken, be it licensed or not :P H. |
