| What was the first anime that you ever saw? Just out of curiousity, what was the first anime that you ever saw, that really got you interested in anime? For me it was either Fatal Fury: TMP or 8 Man After (Both I will probably torrent), I can't remember which one was shown first on Sci-Fi Channel when they were still showing Saturday Morning Anime. | |

| RevanFlame's pet | The anime I lost my cherry to was Akira when I was about 11. I didn't really watch much anime after that (maybe caught a few dubbed episodes of CCS here and there *shudder*). It wasn't until I met my fiance that I really got interested in anime by watching the almighty Bebop a couple of years ago. And the rest is history... H. |

| The first anime I watched was probably Voltron or Project A-Ko, can't remember which. I caught a couple dubbed in north-American TV, like Digimon and CCS. However, I hadn't heard of the anime category before, so I didn't recognise them from regular Saturday morning cartoons. Shortly after entering University, a friend showed me Love Hina, subbed. I immediately went looking for the University Anime Club (CTRL-A, for those who recognize it). They showed around 10-15 different series 12 times a year, including Inuyasha, Saikano, Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu, and subbed CCS. I've been hooked ever since. At least, I think that's how it went... Last edited by Vesper : 06-26-2005 at 01:36 PM. | |

| Lessee.. I've always been drawn to animated series, be it american or japanese, since I was but a wee babe. Earliest series I can recall that I followed were Voltron, Thundercats, He-Man, and others (yes I know they're not all "anime"). Bout five years ago, I was still watching sat morning and weekday afternoon cartoons ( ) and I started following series like DigiMon and whatnot. I knew there was more anime out there, but just never went digging for it.What I think brought me into a full-time love for anime, was .hack//sign. I was a big EverQuest player at the time, and to be honest I'm not even sure what brought me to find .hack and download a few episodes All I know is that once I had a few, and found the storyline that I could follow and apply to the game I was hooked on at the time, it spelled doom for me and free time from then on The artwork was awesome, the soundtrack gave me goosebumps... It left me wanting to find more, so I started downloading other series, and picking up various sets at local stores.I still wouldn't say I've seen a "lot" of anime, but I know I've seen quite a ton of various series over the past 2 years. | |

| I used to watch Voltron and Thundercats when I was really young so I don't remember much it, I'm only 21 after all. But it really hooked me when I would watch Dragonball Z in middle school. Don't get me wrong, I still like DBZ, but as an animation student I can't really find much enjoyment watching it anymore. I still believe it's a classic, though. Since then my tastes in anime have drifting towards types that have good stories. I've loved every Miyazaki movie i've seen so far, and I'm also into shows like Gundam Seed, Gundam Seed: Destiny, Naruto, the ./hack series (I used to play Everquest myself), Love Hina, Onegai Teacher, Cowboy Bepop, Outlaw Star, Ranma 1/2, Inuyasha, FLCL, Fruits Basket, (etc...) As for non-anime, I'm finding Kim Possible to be an enjoyable show. Screw Disney and their 65 episode rule! Jetix shows this one show called WITCH on Toon Disney, it's pretty cool. only slightly similar to captain Planet the girls in the story gained powers of nature and are able to fly around and travel through Space-Time Dimensional Portals to this other planet called Meridian. From what I've seen so far, it's an awsome show. Toon Disney has some other good ones too, like Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, Tail's Spin, and lets not forget shows like Animamiacs and FREAKAZOID ! Oh, whats that? yes? yes? yes i'm done ranting now, NEXT.... | |

| I used to think all anime programs were just cartoons with poor quality animation for immature kids. A friend forced me to sit through a few episodes of "this cool show that you ought to see". The show was Dragon Ball. I enjoyed it and afterwards I continued to watch without his having to force me to. I realised that I barely even knew what anime was and decided to check out some movies. I then saw Akira and Grave of the Fireflies one after the other. Grave of the Fireflies was what really showed me that anime can be just as deep, and beautiful as any other art form. After that I quickly became a complete anime freak. | |
