I preferr subbed anime. The japanese voice actors do a better job. I still watch a lot of older anime from my collection that is dubbed, untill I get the japanese one.

I use to watch dubbed anime(from time to time), but is has slowly gone from bad to good back to bad over the years.

Cowboy Bebop was the best dubbed anime I've ever seen.

I could never watch Mobile suit Gundam ( the original story line) in english. I refused to buy the R1 dvd of the tv show. Instead I bought the HK dvd boxset, I could deal with the mispelled words.

SUBS!!!! Good gods, why would anyone watch dubs??? But, I suppose if you are a really slow reader subs would only be frustrating.

I don't really care, but anime is at it's best in it's original language, since dubbing can sometimes cause strange things, like excessive profanity (lol manga entertainment) or boring catch phrases.

But I don't really care if something is dubbed or not. What really bothers me is when people edit anime and make cuts... I guess I got nothing against 4kids since they never touched any shows I like, but cuts like the one they did in manga entertainmen't old Violence Jack dub were just lame and not professional at all.

It's also kinda wierd when people have to change the music so we won't get to hear the original sound track (like in Fist Of The North Star).

To put it simply, I like dubs if they're done properly and true to the original japanese versions.

As a whole, the quality of dubs is improving, but it still has a far way to go in comparison to the original japanese dubs + english subs.

Many western companies need to get over the popular idea that anime = children's cartoons.

me I'll prefer subbed Anime as most dubbed anime come off 2nd best to their Japanese counterparts in the terms of mouth movements and behaviors and sometimes dubbed voices can seem to be rushed also i believe that the Japanese voices suit the characters more than their English counter parts....

Take for example One Piece which might be good for little kids but when comparing it to the Japanese version you will clearly see where things go wrong in terms of voices and character dialogs

It depends if i dont mind the voices ill watch it dubbed because its easier but if its something like excel saga, i cant even stand to watch it dubbed for more than 5 minutes.
