| Oppai senjin-sama ![]() ![]() | I have seen a lot of bad dubs, but there are some good ones around. I agree with GITS: SAC and Cowboy Bebop. I also liked Onegai (Please) Teacher's dub, but I would rather listen to Kikuko Inoue as Mizuho. She just happens happens to be my favorite Seiyuu. Outside of that, I would rather watch subs or better yet RAWs since I am somewhat proficient at Japanese . . . Last edited by loplop : 02-17-2006 at 09:58 PM. |

| Broadband Junkie ![]() | Subbed is way better because its in the original japanese language so everything expressed as the creators wanted it. Japanese doesn't translate perfectly into english so when dubs are made a lot of dialogue is changed which in effect changes the anime if only slightly. This along with the fact that most dubs royally suck. There are only a couple anime on my acceptable dub list: Ghost in the Shell Cowboy Bebop The US Anime Licencers nowadays don't care about the quality of their dubs so they get the cheapest voice actors they can find who in turn suck and ruin perfectly good anime with they bad voice acting. This is while the Japanese voice actors do an excellent job and have a huge fan base in japan. If you don't like subbed anime you can't say you're an anime fan.

| Well, it all depends on alot of factors. 1st - is subbed, im not that good yet to understand all of what they say. 2nd - dubbed if the voice actors do a goooood job, and the voices 'fit' better then the japanese, wich is rare, but dose happen. example would be 'BIG O' 3rd - dubbed when your watching it with friends that arnt trained to watch subtitles and keep yelling at you to rewind it so they can see what they missed :P | |

| Subbed, for most of the reasons stated in this thread. But also because if I preferred dub, waiting for the anime I want to be available would turn me old and grey. Especially if it's some title ADV bought just to sit their asses on for 10+ years before releasing. Unless I settled for fandubs... and I would rather listen to nails on a chalkboard. | |

| I prefer subs to...even tho it disturbs the newbies(who don't know any jap.) and makes them miss some good parts of animation...and Japanese women's voices are way more feminine than the dub voices plus most of the Japanese seiyuus put their feelings on the line when they act which makes the outcome really great(e.g. Fumiko Orikasa, Houko Kuwashima) | |

| newbies? Just because someone enjoy dubs as much as subs doesn't make them a newbie =P Most of the people in here that appreciate dubs also appreciate subs they just feel that under certain circumstances, dubs are more of a choice. I honestly don't mind dubs, but yes, I do usually watch my anime in subs. Some people just seem to be alittle more narrow minded then others when it comes to anime. =) | |

| Meanie! >:P *pii* I'm not narrow minded! xD...I guess You didn't get my point...when watching with jap. voices, ppl that can't understand japanese HAVE to read subs right? then that makes them miss some parts in the upper screen and thats a fact =D(unless you're really fast in reading subs =D) And dubs won't make anyone a newbie in anime...even I like couple of US Seiyuus like Richard Ian Cox, Moneca Stori and Stephanie Nadolny Last edited by Shinta : 02-20-2006 at 08:19 PM. | |
