| How long is too long? First, Happy New Year! ![]() Okay, now this topic. I was talking with some friends about the length of anime, mostly because of my disappointment that some that I liked during the last couple seasons, such as Kurozuka and World Destruction, seemed to have ended too quick for me. At the same time I can understand that sometimes it's better to end a show before it gets too slow, repetitive or dull. So, when does it get too long? My opinion is somewhere around 100 episodes a lot of the time.

| true i feel some of naruto's filler aren't really needed except for some and the ones that give you an inside on some of the other characters but back to your point here are some that took too long and didn't make sense to me inuyasha-too long and end was a little disappointing gurren laggan-ending could have been better but still good though i think ghost in a shell-stand alone complex did a good job on giving all of the cast a background stories on how they met and joined you can correct me if i'm wrong cause i usually am

| Hmm, it's an interesting question... I guess it really depends on the story and how well the author/director/whoever writes it and conveys it to the viewer. There are some anime that I've watched that are 24~26 episodes long, and they seem to be way too long. While there are some anime I've seen that are two full seasons (52 episodes), and never seem to be repetitive/boring. So I guess what I'm trying to say, is that as long as a story brings in new elements to the story, and doesn't repeat itself, it doesn't really get "old". But I agree, after watching 100 episodes of any anime, there's bound to be some filler or the same situations somewhere in there. |

| I'm going to say that I really like anime that isn't long at all, or that I haven't found one that COULD keep my attention past eps 50 (Dr Grey Man I ended around eps 57 or so) I really like an anime that stays around 26 eps or shorter, case and point Baccano! was only 13 and did amazing with that amount of time.

| I'm really feeling the whole thing about which series you're talking about. Like Bleach... the first filler, the Bount Arc, wasn't all that bad. The latest one was annoying as hell pretty much because it dropped right in the middle of an ongoing story and was absolutely ridiculous. The problelm with short series is that they seem like their just trying to run through the story too quickly, and that makes me lose interest.

| Really? I think that keeps it more action pacted, even when the anime isn't about action... Rumbling hearts was only 14 eps yet it had deep characters and an emotionally moving plot line and like I said before, Baccano! did excellently with 13 eps as well... In all maybe it's user defined. I guess I just like the ones that are shorter...
