There was an anime i remeber from when i was a kid called The legend of Arislan, If anyone could shed soem light to where i could find a copy of this or somewhere to d/l it form i would be very gratefull and it would put a 2 year search at an end! thank you very much in advance if anyone can help

Heroic Legend of Arslan OVA 1-6 complete (www.animez.info)[EXCELLENT ANIME] : Anime > Other - Mininova

Another version is available on Boxtorrents (by RaX)

Difference being the former is two files (3 episode/file) whereas the latter is all six episodes separately...

Many of the groups also have it avaliable via xdcc on IRC. http://anidb.net/ is a good place to search.
