My fiance, while not a die hard trekkie, is into DS9 in a big way. He's currently working his way through every episode >.<

I only ever really had time for Next Gen. I think Picard was the best captain, and Patrick Stewart is a fantastic actor (who says you can't progress to the deepest reaches of space from being a shakesperian actor?). Looking back now though, the special effects are pretty horrendous, and it wasn't until Babylon 5 came out with some kick *** effects that they actually ploughed some money into ST:NG.

I started watching Voyager, but I didn't really take to Janeway as a captain. And the latest series? Please, Bakula should have stayed in Quantum Leap... plus the theme tune is horrendous >.<

Just my thoughts ^^

I liked the original series, and ST:NG has my favourite captain. But I sort of stopped bothering with watching the telly altogether once broadband reached my shores. These days, I just revisit my favourite fan-fiction author to get a ST fix whenever needed. >_>;

I have a friend who advocates early Enterprise and how hawt and truly Vulcan T'Pol is. Eh, maybe if I see it in the bargain bin. XD But sure, I'll happily have a debate over who behaves more like a Klingon, B'Elanna or Worf, right down to their contrasting family backgrounds and biological make-up.

Let's say I'm a fan of the universe and not quite of the shows' writers that seem too afraid of the suits to really break the rules.

Babylon 5 did have some kewl effects.

I think it was more the role bakula was playing than anything else. That was the wose series of them all. Then again it was also the time frame the series was in that made it bad.

Take starwars for instance now there was a smart producer. He told the story from the back to the front so the effects could only get better each time they made a sequel.

as for star trek NG data totally rocked. He's an improved version of spock who could dominate him even the borg couldn't get to him. I'm still confused about #1 though. He has no special talent,Kirk didn't need a second in command he could handle it all.

TOS was before my time and I got into Next Gen only after it went into syndicated reruns, but it hooked me. DS9 I liked alot and Voyager was pretty cool for the most part, though it really lost me at times. I really wanted Enterprise to be a smash hit, and was really looking forward to liking it, but it fell short of my expectations. I was really hoping for good back stories and instead I got a bunch of crap and temporal cold war crap and omg that's a Ferengi!! They really should have left the Klingon head ridge thing a mystery, cause their "explanation" was way too thin imo.

About Babylon 5; this is one that I really wanted to like. I wanted another sci-fi to get into. I tried really hard to like it, but I just couldn't like it.

Andromeda was cool though. I liked that one. Farscape, not so much.

although not a "trekkie" per se... I like TNG probably the most, and I bought the "Borg Collective" (best of Star Trek episodes featuring the BORG).

Oh and Farscape was GREAT!!! Loved it! But I guess that's Australian not American.

Well I'm a Trekkie....I've Assimilated almost all data from TNG To Enterprise...Currently I've been watching Enterprise Again....

Enterprise was good...up to season 3, with the Introduction of the Xindi That storyline could have been done in maybe five episodes or six episodes and not take up the whole season. Season 4 Had a Great Opener, Storm Front Where They went back to an Alternate WW2..... good Episodes I liked the overall basic plot with the Temporal Cold War.....and the Time Traveller Daniels who always yanked Archer out of his time and caused a whole crapload of problems...

Enterprise's Problem was that it went AWAY from the original theme of Star Trek Exploration.....Scott Bakula was good I liked him in Enterprise but yes he should have stayed with Quantum Leap I like that show and he was great.

Sadly Enterprise sorta killed my interest in Star Trek....The Phase Pistol design in Enterprise WAS COOL......The Uniforms were cool....just the story is what killed it....

DS9 was my favorite series but I liked Babylon 5 Better since the series mirrored each other....look at both series and you can tell the differences...In Season 3 of both Series both Captains Got Ships....Sisko got the Defiant and Captain Sheridan Started Using the White Star.......

Still...I can't deny that I like Star Trek......even though now I'm into Stargate...

Star Trek is great, If it came down to it, I think Kirk would mop the floor with Picard.

My favorite characters from each series are:
Nikita Uhura
Spock
Beverly Crusher
Data
Jadzia Dax
Odo
Seven of Nine
Neelix
T'Pol
Archer

I agree that Enterprise was not up to regular Star Trek standards but they didn't have much of a budget. The producers, in their infinite ignorance, decided that because Enterprise took place before the Kirk series that the ships should look more primitive. Bakula did the best he could under the circumstances.
