The Number 23

Howdy howdy folks! How many of you have heard of the movie with Jim Carrey coming out in just a few days called "The Number 23"? Welp I'm excited. Let me tell ya why! I happen to be a "23rdian." A person who sees the number 23 in EXTREME high frequency. (look it up on wikipedia if you don't believe me). Anyways, I don't let it control my life or anything, but it is weird. And I'm NOT THE ONLY ONE who has had this sensation! I was wondering if anyone else has, or has a friend that has it? And likewise, are you folks interested in seeing this movie? Discuss?

I saw the trailer for this the other day, and it does look truely awesome! I've read about it being compared to Robin Williams departure from the usual comedic roles in 1 hour photograph.

I love this kind of psychological flick, so will get it as soon as I can ^^

Though, I have to say, my birthday is on the 23rd of December >.>

Jim Carrey did depart from comedy in "The Truman Show" and I always felt that that movie was VERY UNDER appreciated and underrated. He gave a stellar performance for such an unusual story. And I'm happy to see him in another non-comedic role, especially on such a fascinating topic!!

so....you were born on the 23rd of december, eh? that's KINDA freaky

I've never understood why comedians feel the need to "leave" the comedy that made them what they are. Comedies are popular, and I like my funny guys to be funny. This might be a good movie, but I'm not gonna watch it, cause Ace Ventura won't be acting silly in it.

Oh goodness kiddos...a good actor is one who can make you FORGET about all the other characters he/she has ever played. I feel that Jim Carrey has that in him. In other words we will become SO ENTRENCHED in the character he creates for us we will FORGET Jim Carrey, Liar Liar, the Mask, Ace Ventura, etc etc...

actually, I hope I'm right too!! Otherwise this could be a waste of a good idea :-\???

*edit* Well I saw the movie. It was a little different than I thought, but not in a bad way. It ended up being pretty cool. But you gotta be open minded and what not and you gotta be focused the whole time or you might miss the point of where the movie is going. I was surprised though at the very Moral/Ethical kinda ending. Thumbs up on that part. Ooh, and thumbs up to Jim Carrey, he was by far the best actor in the whole movie and he really did a good job portraying the strange "fingerling" character and his normal "walter."

if you guys get a chance, go see it, but just remember it's NOT going to be everybody's cup of tea!

I saw this movie earlier today and I have to say Jim Carrey did an excellent job with his acting. Just because he's a good comedic actor doesn't mean he's not a good dramatic actor. This movie was so weird and I loved it.. some parts were a little slow but in the end it was worth it ^_^ I'm glad Jim Carrey played that role, I don't think I could see anyone else do it now.
