I Think I might now what the problem is.

Since the game uses an EXTREAMLY small screen resolution (smaller then 640x480), either your Monitor doesn't support it, or the problem might be in a Video card setting

I had this problem once before with my video card only displaying half a screen while displaying small screen resolutions, and to the life of me, I can't remember the setting that caused it. (I have an ATI Card)
