I only ever really had time for Next Gen. I think Picard was the best captain, and Patrick Stewart is a fantastic actor (who says you can't progress to the deepest reaches of space from being a shakesperian actor?). Looking back now though, the special effects are pretty horrendous, and it wasn't until Babylon 5 came out with some kick *** effects that they actually ploughed some money into ST:NG.
I started watching Voyager, but I didn't really take to Janeway as a captain. And the latest series? Please, Bakula should have stayed in Quantum Leap... plus the theme tune is horrendous >.<
Just my thoughts ^^

Babylon 5 did have some kewl effects.
I think it was more the role bakula was playing than anything else. That was the wose series of them all. Then again it was also the time frame the series was in that made it bad.
Take starwars for instance now there was a smart producer. He told the story from the back to the front so the effects could only get better each time they made a sequel.
as for star trek NG data totally rocked. He's an improved version of spock who could dominate him even the borg couldn't get to him. I'm still confused about #1 though. He has no special talent,Kirk didn't need a second in command he could handle it all.
