Here's a band that I think is really good: He Is Legend. They have 3 albums out, and all of them rock. I'm not entirely sure if they'd be considered heavy metal, but they have a pretty solid sound. Some other groups I'm fascinated with now are System Of A Down, Powerman 5000, Tool, and Alien Ant Farm.
