honestly i would rather see this tracker go full private than compleatly public cuase if it did only those who give a damn would seed and too many would be like meh its not like they can tell it was me
i know ive not been a member long and honestly can say i was one of them hit and run leachers in the past but then i started to see why its wrong and for that reason i would hate to see this site become a home for them

With the tracker being public/private, it's really hard to work with things. One of the issues we have right now is that ratios are bound back to an ip address, and this just doesn't work if there is more than 1 user behind an ip (and just flat out doesn't work a lot of the time because it just doesn't want to).
There is another option which is known as
passkey where each
registered user is given a unique key that will mark it's them.
This system works great with all fully private trackers out there. But, DAT isn't 100% private, so we can't use it.
