I dunno if this is applicable to this board, if a mod thinks differently they can move it.

I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread where we list the movies that stand out. The ones that made you laugh a bit more than usual, the ones that exceeded your expectations. My reason for this is that whenever I go to the video store to rent a movie I never know which one to get and usually end up getting a so-so movies. Think of this as a place for recommendations.

Anyway, the movies I would rate as above average:
Drop Dead Gorgeous - a brilliant mockumentery about beauty pageants. Witty, clever, makes some very good points, and involves *****fights/firebombs.

The Manchurian Candidate - quite thoughtful movie about brainwashing in the military, and politics. Not corny, has some good twists.

Cypher - not great but a cut above the standard action movie.

My Fellow Americans - very funny movie about 2 ex-presidents who discover a conspiracy and go on a road trip to find proof. Well worth watching.
