The question is, which version of Windows are you using? Since XP isn't DOS based like all the prior Windows systems it tends act up whenever you try running some DOS based programs.

Anyways, onward to your problem, as improbable as it may be, it sounds like it could be a clash between language versions of the OS. But, I really doubt that is the problem... to be on the safe side though, have you tried running it with AppLocale? If not, go here, download and install the program, then try running it again. You might also, if you haven't already tried, running in 98/2000 Compatability Mode, I'll save the explanation for this should AppLocale fail in solving the problem.
