I am with Shauna on this. Unless a game or two comes out for it that I want really badly, I am not going to invest in this. I can find a lot of other things that I want for $600 than a high-performance console. Heh, I didn't even think of getting a PS2 until the .hack games came so... will pass on the PS3. For now at least.
