I haven't played this in so long. XP

Honestly, I surprised how popular this seems to have gotten recently. I know back when I playing HL a lot TFC was not that popular. Usually people would play the normal HL multi or CS. Mind you, this is back when CS was emerging from Beta and a year or two before Valve got it. So, what is it that is making TFC so popular right now?
