there are a couple things you can do...

oddly enough, my upstream (20 mbps) far outstrips my downstream which sits at like 5 mbps.

uhm, there are 2 things I can think of ... that might help your upload speed.
1) if you're sitting behind a router, then you should open some ports for the BTT program
2) go to dslreports.com (i think it is) and they have a program there that "tweaks" your upstream capabilities.

but then again, that 5, 20 mbps transfer speed was mostly made possible by a campus connection

not sure what the speed is now that I'm on wireless and lose a whole lotta packets to the air!
