Sounds like you had a bad day. Slow walking people don't bother me. I just slow down myself until they get out of the way. People in a rush, who run by and bump into me, and continue running without stopping to say, "I'm sorry" really annoy me the most.

Then there are the impolite people who like to stand in the middle of an escalator with both hands stretched out grabbing the railing, blocking everyone behind him, when all he has to do is to stand on one side and let people walk by.

Then there are the careless people who let doors swing into the elderly. When I worked at New York City, at least once a day either I or someone nearby is catching a door from slamming some old lady in the face.

But I have found most New Yorkers are very friendly, kind, and like to help out people. Just smile and treat them nicely, and they'll return the same.
