Hi,

As many of you have noticed, there has been some big changes that have gone on within datorrents in the past week and honestly, none of them have been good.

To start, our advertisement company suspended us because of the lolicon gallery and has been demanding countless other 'additions' to the site to make it work better for them. While i've been able to get us reinstated, we've had to make some changes, but hope to give everyone more because of it.

Currently the site has been on a major downward spiral in revenue, making the site not even cover its own bandwidth costs. While we've worked hard to optimize the site as much as possible and have compressed most everything we can, datorrents is just massive. Because of this, starting today the gallery will have a full page ad once a day, and also is running 'adult driven' ads. Many may ask why we don't use these on the rest of the site - quite simply, the gallery makes up 80% of our bandwidth usage on here! Now many may say that the gallery does have a hand full of non adult/hentai related content, which is true, but adbrite them selves stated that if we wanted to seperate the content 'properly' (non adult only on the hentai sections) they would need a gateway (select "Yes I'm of age") on each time a user clicks into an adult category or on an adult ad. We came to the conclusion that it's less of a pest to
you, the end user, to simply deal with the full page ad and it be adult driven than deal with gateway pages and countless other problematic things.

To make it better on you, the end user, though, we'll be also be starting to mass import into the gallery again and getting things back on track. Our hope is to bring in 3000 - 5000 new images every week from an ever massive unsorted pile that our own Ichigo has collected.

While we can't have the lolicon gallery enabled right now, we're in talks with other advertisers to look at getting away from adbrite and their penny paying ways.

We ask that if you have any comments/ideas/etc on how to better handle these two major issues, that you please mention it in this thread and we'll read them all over.
